Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on June 28 that Serbia is a “free and freedom-loving country [where] no one but its citizens make decisions,” adding that, “not many countries can boast of such a fact.”

“Freedom is sacred; peace is sacred too, and together they are the most valuable combination,” Vucic said after laying a wreath at the Monument to Kosovo Heroes in the town of Krusevac, adding that St. Vitus Day is the symbol of “greatness of our people.”

He also said that unresolved conflicts must not be left to future generations. “We have to end them, to do our best to put a stop to death and ensure a life for our posterity.”

“To the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija I wish a happy St. Vitus Day, a happy holiday, and I am telling you now – you will know, today and to the end of time, who’s true and who isn’t. [You will see] [W]ho will protect you, and who hasn’t protected Kosovo and Metohija,” Vucic pointed out.
