Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on July 14 sent a letter of congratulations to French President Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of France’s national day, pointing out that Serbia is privileged to have such a reliable partner as France and is committed to strengthening ties with it, the Serbian President’s Office has announced.

“Freedom, equality and brotherhood you celebrate on July 14 are everlasting values and all those respecting these ideals, with Serbia being among them, have the task to work to preserve them in this contemporary world filled with challenges,” the message says.

Vucic also said that Serbia is privileged to have such a reliable partner as France and that he is personally honored because Macron is always ready to hear Serbia’s positions on various matters.

“The attitude you as a man and a leader have toward Serbia is of enormous importance to us,” the Serbian president said and added that the respect of Serbia and its citizens Macron had demonstrated during his visit to the country in July 2019 is written down in the history of Serbian-French relations.

Every July 14, France celebrates its national day, Bastille Day, with a military parade, which was not held last year because of the coronavirus epidemic.
