At a Sept. 6 meeting with the new head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic confirmed that accession to the European Union (EU) was an absolute priority and strategic orientation in Serbia's foreign policy, and that the country remained fully committed to national reform.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Selakovic as saying that Serbia was open to full cooperation with the EU, its institutions and member states, as well as to dynamic work that could accelerate the negotiating process.

The minister also underlined that Serbia was equally committed to regional cooperation, stability, security and diplomatic solutions to all open issues.

Speaking of talks between Belgrade and Pristina, Selakovic said that the dialogue and compromises were key to a sustainable agreement, adding though that Pristina had repeatedly refused to meet the obligations arising from the Brussels agreement, including the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
