The opposition candidate closest to accepting a race for Serbian presidency on behalf of a group of opposition parties rallied around the Freedom and Justice Party, the People's Party and the Democratic Party is a People's Party vice president, Zdravko Ponos, the Nova newspaper reported on Nov. 1.
Quoting its own sources, the paper wrote that a vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Marinika Tepic, should be the lead candidate on the opposition ballot in the next parliamentary vote, scheduled for April 2022, coinciding with the presidential election.
Even though the three central opposition parties, the Free Citizens' Movement and the Movement for Turnabout have not yet unveiled a clear stance as to their participation in the elections, Nova says that the likelihood of an agreement "grows." Media reports have suggested lately that another People's Party presidential nominee might be the party leader, Vuk Jeremic.
