Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Shunog, said on Nov. 26 that reaching a final, legally binding agreement in a normalization dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina was in the best interest of both.

In an interview with Pristina's KTV, Shunog said that the agreement "will open the path of integration into the EU for both countries." "I believe it is in the best interest of not only the two sides, but also the entire region, for the agreement to close all open issues," the EU official said.

According to Shunog, the progress made in the dialogue does not depend on the Union, but rather Belgrade and Pristina, because the EU only assists the process. "If Pristina and Belgrade agree to reach an agreement as soon as possible, the EU will be glad," Shunog said.
