Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic, who has been on an official visit to Great Britain, has met with his British counterpart Ben Wallace to discuss bilateral cooperation.
The ministers, according to a release from the Serbian Ministry in the evening on Jan. 24, discussed bilateral defense cooperation and possibilities to further develop it.
Wallace, the secretary of state for defense, said that the arrangement of the two ministries, signed during his visit to Belgrade in June 2021, was yet another indicator of mutual readiness and commitment to develop and concretize military cooperation. Assessing military collaboration as very good, Wallace expressed commitment to increasing joint participation of members of the British and Serbian armies in U.N. missions, and also to the development of cooperation between the defense industries.
Stefanovic said that Serbia was committed to strengthening relations in the defense field to the mutual interest through joint efforts, relaying on the alliance during the two world wars.
Stefanovic has toured the Imperial War Museum in London. He is scheduled to meet with the prime minister’s special envoy to the Western Balkans, Air Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, the chair of the Defense Select Committee, Tobias Ellwood, and the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Serbia, Andrew Bridgen, according to the release.
