IT and e-administration office director Mihailo Jovanovic called on Feb. 3 on Serbian citizens to visit a newly-established e-consultations website and help compose laws, acts and other regulations as well as public policy documents- strategies, programs and action plans and that around 20 documents had been placed there by different ministries and were available on the website.

"The E-consultations website, which is located at ekonsultacije.gov.rs,  poses a digital instrument that connects public administration bodies that bring and propose public policy documents such as strategies, plans, programs, laws and bylaws on the one hand and civil society organizations, citizens, businesses, NGOs and all those interested in how public policy documents will look like" on the other, Jovanovic told BETA.

He explained that this meant that all ministries had the status of administrators on the website and that when composing a document, such as a strategy for example, the initial documents are placed on the website enabling the public to monitor the content of these documents and send comments, suggestions and proposals.

The participation of citizens in creating public policies is only part of the reform of public administration that is being conducted in Serbia with the continuous help of the EU.
