Based on its monitoring, Transparency Serbia (TS) has assessed that this election campaign was the most expensive one since 2004, and that a little more money was spent than in 2012.

According to the statement of the program director of TS, Nemanja Nenadic, this campaign cost the taxpayers 15.7 million euros and this, in his words, "generous financing" will have as the result the greater costs, coupled with the fact that participants will rely less on other sources of financing.

Nenadic explained that the new law on the financing of political activities was more favorable for those who nominated the members of parliament, but not the presidential candidate, and that they would receive more money.

As for television advertising, the total value of the campaign reached almost seven million euros, according to TS figures, not counting the local media. TS has stated that most of that money went to TV Pink, around 2.6 million euros, RTS (1.8 million) and TV Happy (1.2 million).
