The head of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, welcomed on June 9 the Serbian and Belgrade authorities' treatment of the refugees from Ukraine.

After a visit to the Info Center in the Youth Club where Ukrainian refugees receive information and assistance during their stay in Serbia, Giaufret underscored the importance of helping the people coming from Ukraine. "It is important to welcome them, to show them solidarity so that they can find employment more easily and to have access to all rights," he said.

The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, has stated that the Info Center was opened on May 6, within the city's response to the war in Ukraine and the increasing inflow of people fleeing the war.

"646 people have contacted us so far and there is the application, so all who want can use it without coming to the Youth Club," Vesic said.

The Serbian minister for European integration, Jadranka Joksimovic, and the Ukrainian ambassador in Belgrade, Volodymyr Tolkach, have also attended.
