Serbian Minister of EU Integration Jadranka Joksimovic said on July 3 that, once it became a member of the European Union, Serbia would have to be aligned with EU policy.

"The unity of everyone in the EU, including candidates, is an instrument to weaken Russia, since a global conflict that would lead to worldwide collapse is being avoided," Joksimovic told the Kurir daily in an interview. She said the new government would accelerate reforms and Serbia's European path.

"In the course of next year we will have prepared cluster two, on the internal market, and five, on cohesion, resources and agriculture. Cluster three, on inclusive growth and competitiveness, is ready now, while cluster one, on the rule of law, and four, on the green agenda and sustainable connections, are open. Cluster six remains, on common foreign and security policy," the minister explained.
