The European Union’s special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, said on July 9 that three or four agreements were ready for the two countries to sign, and that they were expected to be finalized soon.

At the 15th Forum in Dubrovnik, Lajcak praised both sides for monthly meetings between their chief negotiators, adding that there was also an agreement to hold top-level meetings. Lajcak also said that the bilateral dialogue was the most strategic process in the region.

According to him, two pressing matters are beginning accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia and a no-visa regime for Kosovo.

Lajcak said that it was time for the EU to restore the credibility of the enlargement process, and that its partners were doing a very good job in carrying out reforms. He added that the EU must wrap up the unfinished job of the Western Balkans’ EU accession.
