According to the Aug. 30 edition of the Vecernje Novosti daily, the Socialist Party of Serbia is expecting to receive four seats in the new Cabinet, while the party’s leader, Ivica Dacic, is likely to become minister of internal affairs. Unless negotiations with Prime Minister Designate Ana Brnabic take a sudden turn, Dacic will also be Serbia’s new deputy prime minister and security services coordinator.

United Serbia head Dragan ‘Palma’ Markovic and the current director of the Srbijasume national forestry company Igor Braunovic are in the run for minister of agriculture, while former handball player Ratko Nikolic could become the new minister of sports if the Socialists are granted that ministry. Should the Socialists be given jurisdiction over healthcare, the most likely contender for minister of health is Dr. Vladimir Djukic, a surgeon and the current director of the Dragisa Misovic Clinical Hospital Center, the paper claims.

With regards to members of the Serbian Progressive Party, Novosti maintains that current Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic is being considered for either minister of defense or minister of justice.
