The ambassadors of the Quint countries, Italy, Germany, France, the USA and the United Kingdom, and Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret, handed Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic a joint document on Oct. 21, fearing possible instabilities in the region as a deadline to replace Serbian license plates with Kosovo plates nears, the Office of the President of Serbia has said.

Vucic told the ambassadors, with whom he met at their request, that he shared their concerns over potential tensions, adding that Serbia was committed to the dialogue as a way to resolve open issues for the benefit of the Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo, without threatening its own national interests, the Office quoted the president as saying in a press release.

The Serbian president said the existing tensions had been created by Pristina’s unilateral measures, recalling that Pristina was not respecting an Agreement on the Freedom of Movement, mediated by the EU. The Quint ambassadors and EU Ambassador Giaufret thanked Vucic for Serbia’s constructive role in meeting the objectives of the Road Map for the implementation of an energy agreement, which was part of the dialogue with Pristina.
