By buying a stake in the Toriox company connected to Serbian businessman Bogoljub Karic’s firms, Russian businessmen Alexey Gnedovsky and Dmitry Bugaenko have become the owners of a construction lot in Belgrade called “Nova Livnica,” which is known as one of the most attractive sites in Serbia, VOICE, an investigative website based in Novi Sad, announced on Jan. 14.

Toriox was established in July 2022, and as early as August the same year this unknown firm without capital won an auction for the site with a EUR43 million bid, VOICE wrote in an article. The website said that companies unknown in the world of business used three transactions to buy the "Nova Livinica” and “IMT” lots from two state agencies – the Licencing Agency for Receivers and the Deposit Insurance Agency.

VOICE says that the purchase was traced to the owners of the construction land in Novi Beograd through Serbia, Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates to Russia, following an invitation to bid by the Deposit Insurance Agency last summer.
