Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic on Jan. 17 said that over the past three months the position of the U.S. regarding the Kosovo issue had been fairer than of some European states.

Speaking for TV Happy, Vucevic said his impression was that “the U.S. has a dose of pragmatism” and wished to hear the voice of Serbia, noting that the administration in Washington did not need “a new point of conflict.”

“The position of Washington has been fairer than before, but let us not be delusional that the U.S. is altering its policy, for them Kosovo is an independent state and my impression is that they have a dose of pragmatism,” Vucevic said.

The Serbian defense minister once again underlined Belgrade’s readiness for continuing the dialogue and reaching a political agreement with Pristina, stressing that there would be no persecution of Serbs.
