Electoral silence ahead of local elections started at midnight on May 30 and will last until polling stations close at 8 p.m. on June 2.
During that period, presenting candidates and party programs in the media and at public gatherings, inviting voters to vote for a particular political option, and announcing election result estimates is prohibited.
Local elections are taking place in Serbia on June 2, in 89 cities and municipalities, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak, Valjevo, and the majority of Vojvodina municipalities.
Citizens of Belgrade will be picking 110 representatives of the city assembly and representatives in all 17 of Belgrade's municipalities.
The total number of voters registered to vote in the elections for the Belgrade Assembly is 1,602,112 and voting will be done at 1,265 polling stations.
