Schieb: Agreement with Kosovo Condition for Decisive Step in Eurointegration

German Ambassador in Serbia Thomas Schieb said on Oct. 2 that an all-encompassing agreement with Kosovo is a condition for Serbia to make a “decisive step” in the EU integration process.

“Germany favors a solution and we wish that a dialogue results in an all-encompassing agreement that will be a condition for Serbia to make a decisive step toward EU membership,” Schieb told TV Prva.

According to him, Serbia has to resolve the problem of Kosovo in order to become an EU member and “avail itself of all advantages” of such membership.

The ambassador added that it is “sad” that Pristina did not abolish the tariff on goods from Serbia despite all efforts to have that happen.
