A joint group to improve Serbia's ranking in the World Bank's Doing Business List decided on Oct. 28 that an action plan be prepared for Serbia to move up the list of 190 states to join the world's top ten most improved economies.

Serbia ranks 44th on this year's list, four places up compared to 2018.

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, who chaired the session, recalled that Serbia was the most competitive country in construction licensing, recording the best result in improving the position of minority shareholders.

"We know we can do better. If we can achieve continuous progress in one area, that of building licensing, we can do the same in others. Serbia's goal should be to join the top ten economies in the ease of doing business," Minister Mihajlovic said.
