Ipsos Strategic Marketing consultant Srdjan Bogosavljevic said on Nov. 4 that the Serbian Progressive Party with its small coalition partners has had, for a long time now, the support of over one half of the decided voters.

“As the number of decided voters has significantly gone down in the past month – their [Progressive party’s] rating rose over 56 percent. The Progressive party has a very loyal voting body; therefore, the lower the turnout, the bigger their chance [at winning the elections]. The Socialist Party of Serbia is also stable and has for some time been around 12 percent – at the moment it’s at 12.5,” Bogosavljevic said for daily Danas.

He also stated that those parties leaning toward boycotting the coming elections have shown a decline.

“With some 8.5 percent, the Alliance for Serbia is absolutely the biggest loser, but I’d also add that’s to be expected when you tell your voters not to vote for anyone, yourself included, and when you’re structured for simple political actions and don’t have a system that allows easy promotion of long-term policies that all the members agree on,” the Ipsos consultant added.

Those opposition parties that have not openly spoken about joining the boycott, according to Bogosavljevic, have more or less the same results they had a month or two ago. He further added that the Movement of Free Citizens and the Serbian Radical Party are a little over the five-percent threshold.
