Confirmed Covid-19 Case Count in Croatia 315

As of early March 23, six new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Croatia, putting the current tally at 315 infected, the National Headquarters of Civil Protection announced later in the day.

"The clinical symptoms of the hospitalized patients have not worsened. Five are on ventilators," Croatian Health Minister Vili Beros told a news conference.

In the last 24 hours a total of 61 new infections with the novel coronavirus were confirmed.

Among them is Danijel Mestric, state secretary at the Croatian Ministry of Construction, the ministry said on March 23.

Mestric is in a hospital in Varazdin with milder symptoms, and everyone who had come into contact with him -- a total of five ministry employees, is self-isolating.

Construction Minister Predrag Stromar had not had any contact with him.

On March 22, Croatia was hit by an earthquake. According to the latest records, one person died and 27 were injured, 17 of whom seriously.
