Health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina received on March 31 the first shipment of COVID-19 test kits financed by the EU, the EU Delegation in Bosnia has announced.
"A total of 2,500 coronavirus test kits, financed by the EU, whose procurement was secured by the UNDP, were delivered today to cantonal hospitals in Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla, and the Republika Srpska Institute for Public Health," the statement said.
EU Delegation to Bosnia chief Johann Sattler has said that this is the first in a series of shipments that will be realized as part of a EU financial aid package for the country's urgent medical needs. The delivery of an additional 5,000 tests is expected by the end of the week.
A total of 408 people have been infected by the coronavirus in Bosnia.
