Croatian President Zoran Milanovic has called parliamentary elections for July 5.

It was specified in a May 20 release by the presidential press office that elections for parliamentary seats in the 10th legislative term would take place on July 5, while voters may cast their ballots in diplomatic and consular offices on July 4 and July 5.

The presidential decree setting the election date will go into force on June 2, and the election deadlines will start to run the day later, including a 14-day deadline for submitting lists of candidates.

The Croatian parliament issued a decision to disband on May 18, after the ruling coalition led by the Croatian Democratic Union had decided that regular elections should take place next summer, instead of next fall.
