Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu said on Sept. 14 that the Western Balkans couldn't afford to lose yet another decade to new instabilities, underlining that transatlantic partnerships and regional cooperation were always welcome, the Council quoted Bregu as saying.

"Time is passing by, and the Western Balkans can't afford to lose another decade over new potential instability. It's dangerous. If qualified and educated people can't see a European future at home, they will use the existing migration opportunities and seek better living conditions in the European Union. Transatlantic partnerships and regional cooperation are always welcome for the region to keep sailing to the West," Bregu said.

In an interview with the European Western Balkans, Bregu recalled that a regional initiative, Green Corridors, allowed for a free flow of goods in the most critical phase of the coronavirus pandemic, stabilizing the flow of goods across the Western Balkans and providing a considerable boost to exporters and producers depending on exports.
