Croatian Euro Coins on Sale as of Dec. 1

As of Dec. 1, the population of Croatia will be able to purchase the initial package of euro coins, which contains 33 pieces with Croatian themes on the reverse.

According to the statement of the Croatian National Bank, the initial package of EUR13.28 worth of Croatian-themed coins costs HRK100 and will be available in banks, the Financial Agency and the Croatian Post.

Croatian euro coins will be used for payments in Croatia and abroad as of Jan. 1, 2023, when they are to become the legal means of payment in Croatia and in the rest of the euro zone.

A period of dual circulation will apply in the first two weeks from introduction, from Jan. 1 to 14, 2023, which means that cash buyers will be able to pay in kunas and receive change, if any, in euros.
