The director of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Agency for Medicine and Medical Equipment, Aleksandar Zolak, has decided to allow the import of Russian medicine in accordance with the powers and obligations that the Law on Medicine and Medical Equipment prescribes, Nezavisne Novine has reported.

Zolak is going ahead with this, despite the fact that the stances of members from Republika Srpska and the Muslim-Croat Federation are no closer than they were. “In making this decision I took into account both sides’ views, as well as those of experts, whose opinions are unequivocally positive,” Zolak stressed. He said that the question had been politicized for no reason, the Agency said in a statement.

Zolak added that the medicine that had entered the system would be closely watched and checked according to the law.
