Bosnia and Herzegovina Pays EUR3.72m Commitment Fee

Last year, Bosnia and Herzegovina paid a commitment fee of around BAM7.28m (3,72 million euros), reads the Ministry of Finance and Treasury’s information to the Council of Ministers on the state of public debt in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Bosnia paid the most “penalties” on the grounds of now drawing funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – about BAM3.76m, of which more than 1.8m pertains to the project of road rehabilitation in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the floods, according to media reports.

Failure to draw this EBRD funds also led the payment of more than BAM1.16m for Corridor Vc, along with 393,661 for the Plava Voda regional waterworks. 

A commitment fee was also paid for failure to draw funds from the German Development Bank (KfW), in the amount of almost BAM1.34m – 488,958 for the pumped-storage hydropower plant Vrilo project, 296,586 for the Podvelezje wind power plants project, and 293,375 for the Hrgud wind park project. 

Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019 paid a commitment fee to the International Monetary Fund totaling BAM1,192,725 and the sum pertains to the Extended Fund Facility, Nezavisne Novine reports. 

BAM984,700 was paid to the World Bank, i.e. the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, of which 465,573 pertaining to a banking sector strengthening project, 265,489 for strengthening the road sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 169,414 for an employment support project.
