Salaries in Croatia Down 3% in Real Terms

The average monthly net salary per employee in Croatia in August totaled HRK7,679 (EUR1,018), which is 8.9% higher in nominal terms. but 3% lower in real terms, than in the same month last year, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics has stated. 

The net salary in August was 1.4% higher in nominal, and 1.3% in real terms, compared to July, the Hina news agency reports. 

The year-over-year decline in salaries in real terms is a consequence of record inflation. 

Consumer prices in Croatia in August went up 12.3% YOY, while in September inflation sped up to 12.8%.
