The coronavirus pandemic and the imposing of curfew have conspicuously reduced the collection of road toll payments in North Macedonia.

Officials of the public company managing state roads told news agency Mia that revenue from road toll payments in January–April 2020 decreased by 9.79% YOY.

In the first two months of this year there was an increase in the collection of the road use fee according to the planned dynamic, but already in March and April there was a 35.46% drop in the collection of funds.

The revenue includes the money collected from the toll booth near Gevgelija, which was inaugurated in late August 2019 and participated in the revenue for January–April.
