The government of North Macedonia has released a statement saying that it had signed contracts with the Bulgarian Solarpro Holding and Turkish Fortis Energi Electric for building a 100MW photovolactic power station worth EUR70m.
Each company will build one 50MW solar power plant at the old mine in Oslomej as part of a public-private partnership with the state ESM power company, a June 16 government statement said.
The investment will create 100 jobs.
The contracts will last 35 years, after which ownership of the solar power plants will be transferred to ESM, ESM GM, SeeNews quoted Vasko Kovacevski as saying.
According to the deal, ESM will get 18.510% of the electricity produced by Fortis Energi Electric and 18.010% of the electricity generated by Solapro, according to an earlier statement.
Solarpro expects to rev up to the maximum capacity of over 80 MW in North Macedonia in two years, Solapro executive director in North Macedonia Aleksandar Petreski said earlier, who stressed that the company was powering over 450 companies in North Macedonia.
In 2020 Solapro won a tender for building a 10 MW solar power plant in the village of Manastric and Makedonski Brod.
