Unlike Serbia, where health care workers will receive a 10% raise, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced 10-15% salary cuts in the public sector.

After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, countries in the region have taken various measures to save their economies, including pay cuts in the public sector.

Croatian Minister of Economy Darko Horvat said earlier that, if other methods during the coronavirus crisis did not help, salaries in the public sector would have to be lowered.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, too, Federal Premier Fadil Novalic has said that he believes everyone’s salaries should be reduced during the coronavirus crisis, website B92 reports.
