Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on March 26 that Serbia would evacuate its citizens from foreign countries during the COVID-19 epidemic.
"Today (March 26) a plane departed for London. Another plane has left for Los Angeles but not to pick up passengers, but to deliver materials that are essential to health care," Dacic told the N1 TV station.
Asked about what the government was doing about other citizens trapped in the U.S., Prague, Lisbon, Thailand, Dacic replied that no one was stuck in airports anymore.
"That was an emergency. We will continue to estimate our priorities," Dacic said.
N1 TV has reported that there are Serbian citizens who are still stuck around the world and added that pleas for the state to allow them to return to the country were coming from India, the U.S., Malta and Thailand.
