The Croatian parliament on May 18 took a decision on its own dissolution, and now it is up to Croatian President Zoran Milanovic to set the date of the general election.
Out of the total 151 MPs of the ninth convocation of the parliament, 105 voted in favor of dissolution, eight voted against, while four abstained from voting. President Zoran Milanovic is expected to decide, in the next few days, on the date of the election, which must be held within 30 to 60 days of dissolution of parliament.
The possible election dates are June 21, June 28, July 5 or July 12.
The parliament's dissolution happened after a protest of citizens and parties mainly active in the Zagreb City Assembly, caused by the fact that a law on the reconstruction of Zagreb - which was hit by a strong earthquake in March - had not been enacted before the disbanding.
