Serbian Radical Party president Vojislav Seselj has spoken in favor of resolving the Kosovo and Metohija issue within the Constitution of Serbia, by giving full autonomy to Kosovo Albanians, which would not include the military or border control.

In an election interview with BETA published on June 12, Seselj said places in Kosovo and Metohija populated by Serbs should be returned to full Serbian jurisdiction.

"The issue of Kosovo and Metohija must be brought back under the auspices of the U.N. Security Council. Russia must be included in the negotiations as our protector force, which already advocates the implementation of Resolution 1244," the Radical leader said.

Commenting on statements by some opposition parties that they are boycotting the June 21 election in Serbia because the conditions are neither fair nor democratic, Seselj said everyone was entitled to boycott the vote.

"We never did that. We don't think it's smart. This election campaign is different because of the coronavirus epidemic, and [the Radical party] won't have rallies for that reason. We don't want to expose people to any danger or risk, and it only matters to us that the ruling parties don't try to recruit members of election committees and use them to change the electoral will of the voters," Seselj said.
