People’s Party leader Vuk Jeremic has said that the figures that the Serbian Electoral Commission will announce as results of the June 21 elections are completely irrelevant and should not be trusted.
“The data on the turnout will also be announced by the so-called electoral commission in which Progressive party members, contrary to law, are in majority. The figures that such a commission will announce are irrelevant and should not be trusted, and let those who believe in the authorities’ claims that they are living in the golden age believe in these figures,” Jeremic said in a pre-election interview released by BETA on June 17.
Jeremic recalled that the People’s Party decided to boycott the elections as far back as August 2019, and that this decision has never been brought into question because the People’s Party keeps its word and fulfills its promises.
He added that the People’s Party is against any decision on Kosovo and Metohija that would imply a seat in the United Nations for Kosovo.
“We advocate a solution within the boundaries of the Serbian Constitution and U.N. Security Council Resolution 1244 and believe that negotiations on improving the conditions of everyday life for all citizens living in that part of Serbia’s territory are necessary,” Jeremic said.
