Wearing face coverings on public transport is compulsory in Serbia as of June 23 and those without masks will not be allowed to ride, the Covid-19 response team decided on June 23.

According to a release issued after the meeting, coverings do not have to be surgical grade masks bought in pharmacies and people can use cloth masks that can be worn multiple times as well as similar coverings.

The team also advised the citizens to wear face masks indoor, particularly in postal offices, banks, public institutions, retails, and shopping centers. “The Serbian government will continue to carefully monitor the developments regarding the epidemiological situation and will be updating the public regularly and timely,” the team said in the release.
