Representatives of Serbia and of the EU signed an agreement on July 15, on the basis of which the Union would finance the employing of around 200 additional medical personnel in Serbian hospitals, clinics and laboratories.
The agreement, which secures the financial assets for employing new medical teams, was signed by the Serbian minister for European integration, Jadranka Jovanovic, the chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Sem Fabrizi, and the head of the U.N. Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Michela Telatin, the EU Info Center has stated.
The EU has promptly responded to the request of the Serbian Ministry for Health and enabled the financing of employing of medical personnel for the period of six months, the statement reads.
Fabrizi said that the agreement represented one more expression of the EU's strong support to Serbia in the field of health and in the response to the corona virus pandemic.
