A total of 282 patients, all with severe pneumonia, of whom 24 are on ventilators, have been hospitalized at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases within the Vojvodina Clinical Center.
“All hospitalized patients have pneumonia, with severe infection, mainly in both lungs. Some need only antibiotics, and some oxygen therapy,” Hospital for Infectious Diseases Head Vesna Turkulov told broadcaster RT Vojvodina on July 21.
According to her, the patients’ age ranges from 20 years and above. Patients of all age groups had been hospitalized, she said, adding that high risk groups included obese persons and those with hypertension, diabetes, and other associated illnesses.
