Serbian Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic announced on Aug. 31 that the construction of a new waste water filtration system in the capital would begin in the fall of 2021.

At a meeting of the Working Group monitoring the construction of Belgrade's waste water filtration system, Minister Mihajlovic said that investment in communal infrastructure was of paramount importance for the quality of life of Belgraders.

"Together with this project, Serbia invests more than EUR3.3 billion in water factories, sewerage system and water filtration plants. It is very important that we work together on this project, because our goal is to launch the construction works in the fall of 2021," she said at the meeting, also attended by representatives of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a construction and engineering company.
