Head of the NATO Liaison Officer in Belgrade Brigadier General Tommaso Vitale said on Nov. 23 that Serbia was "a reliable partner," playing "a key role in regional stability."
During a meeting with Serbian Minister of Defense Nebojsa Stefanovic, the NATO chief liaison officer in Serbia said that North Atlantic Alliance was committed to maintaining the size of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) and meeting all the requirements of its mandate.
Minister Stefanovic said that Serbia did not aspire to NATO membership, explaining that its role in the Partnership for Peace was an optimal framework for cooperation with the Alliance, the Ministry of Defense quoted Stefanovic as saying in a press release.
The meeting was attended by Dutch Ambassador Gilles Beschoor Plug as well, describing Serbia-NATO cooperation as "mutually useful," and pointing to the possibility of using the organization's logistical capacities to support medical cooperation in curbing the spread of Covid-19.
