In a video conference on Nov. 30, the members of the EU-Kosovo Stabilization and Association Council hailed Pristina’s continued strategic commitment to the EU path and the EU-mediated dialogue with Serbia.

The meeting participants welcomed the resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in Brussels in July, after the appointment of Miroslav Lajcak as EU special representative and the removal of Kosovo tariffs on goods coming from Serbia and the reciprocal measures, it is said in a joint statement issued after the video conference.

“The meeting underlined the importance of continued engagement in good faith in the negotiations with the aim of achieving a comprehensive and legally binding agreement on the normalization of relations. It is crucial for Kosovo and Serbia in making progress on their respective paths toward the EU. The meeting participants agreed that all so far reached agreements should be honored and implemented,” according to the statement.

The meeting also reviewed Kosovo’s progress ton its EU path after the publishing of the European Commission’s Kosovo 2020 Progress Report. The participants also discussed the recent events in relation to the fulfillment of political and economic criteria, financial cooperation and the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement from 2015.

The meeting was presided by EU High Representative Josep Borrell, while the European Commission was represented by Neighborhood and Enlargement Commission Oliver Varhelyi. The Kosovo delegation was headed by Premier Avdullah Hoti.
