After meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic in Brussels on Dec. 15, European Council President Charles Michel has said that Montenegro enjoys full support for the reforms it had been undertaking.
“Close ties with the Western Balkans countries are crucial for the EU and Montenegro is an essential partner. You have our full support for the reforms your country is undertaking,” Michel has written on his Twitter.
Krivokapic has told state public broadcaster RTCG that Montenegro has full support of European partners for its aspirations to become the 28th EU Member State. He added that Montenegro was easily adapt to the EU as euro was its official currency, it had been integrated in the European defense and security system as a full-fledged member of NATO, and its population of more than 600,000 posed no worries for the freedom of movement.
This was Krivokapic’s first official visit to Brussels.
