Serbian Speaker Ivica Dacic and European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Chair David McAllister have agreed in a telephone conversation that the talks about the dialogue between the Serbian government and opposition will continue after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
According to a press release posted at the Serbian Parliament’s website in the evening on Dec. 22, McAllister pointed out the importance the European Union ascribes to the continuation of the intra-party dialogue and hailed the readiness for its speedy resumption.
Also emphasized was joint support for the continuation of the dialogue in the Serbian Parliament, in line with an agreement reached in September 2019 in the letters exchanged by then Serbian Speaker Maja Gojkovic and European Parliament representative David McAllister, the press release read.
Dacic informed McAllister that next week a session will be held in the Parliament at which MPs will debate a European Commission report on Serbia’s progress in 2020.
This will be the first time the MPs will discuss a progress report, and that initiative was assessed positively by McAllister.
