On the occasion of Feb. 17, Kosovo’s Independence Day, Kosovo Acting President Vjosa Osmani received congratulations from numerous foreign officials, Osmani’s office has announced.
Osmani received a congratulatory message from British Queen Elisabeth II, who expressed her hope that the challenges of the pandemic will be overcome.
In his telegram, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier underlined the issue of Kosovo’s progress in the European integration processes.
“Determined and sustainable reforms for strengthening the rule of law as well as the normalization of relations with Serbia remain key to Kosovo’s continuation on this path. The resumption of the dialogue last year, with mediation from the EU, was an important step forward,” the telegram said.
French President Emmanuel Macron’s message emphasized the importance of continuing the dialogue with Serbia, with Italian President Sergio Mattarella also expressing his support to the talks.
Congratulations were also sent by the kings of Sweden and Belgium and the presidents of Switzerland and Croatia.
