Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on May 5 that "no discriminatory measures" would be taken against those who didn't want to get a Covid-19 vaccine, but that the Serbian government was trying to "reward the people who demonstrated responsibility," and decided to "provide additional financial assistance to vacinnated people."

President Vucic said in an interview with the Pink TV that aside from a one-off payment of EUR30, i.e. EUR50 for pensioners, the vaccinated would receive another RSD3,000.

"Every citizen over the age of 16 who has been vaccinated or will do so until May 31 will receive another RSD3,000. I expect to see three million vaccinated people until the end of May," Vucic said, adding that "those who are not vaccinated cannot count on a paid sick leave if they catch the coronavirus."
