Nikos Dendias

The foreign minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, announced on Aug. 26 that Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias would come to Skopje for a return visit, at the end of this month.

Speaking at the news conference, Osmani said the agenda of the meeting with Nikos Dendias would include the assessment of the implementation of the Prespa Agreement and Greece's support to North Macedonia's European integration.

It is envisaged, Osmani explained, for the meeting with Dendias to include "an evaluation of the degree of implementation of the Prespa Agreement, regarding the obligations of North Macedonia, as well as those of Greece."

The Prespa Agreement, signed on June 17, 2018 under U.N. auspices, resolved the decades-long dispute between the two neighboring countries around the name Macedonia. According to the agreement, the Republic of Macedonia changed its name on Feb. 12, 2019 to Republic of North Macedonia, and began issuing passports and ID cards with the country's new name a few days ago.
