The director of a major COVID hospital in the Belgrade suburb of Batajnica, Dr Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic, said that it’s time that COVID passes be scrapped, adding that she would support the decision if the COVID Crisis Headquarters chose to make it.

The hospital director said in a March 7 interview with the Nova newspaper that between a third and a quarter of the population had never gotten COVID-19 or a vaccine, and that the statistics support a decision to end COVID passes, which the government’s response team might make by the end of the week.

Dr Adzic-Vukicevic said that she couldn’t say what would happen with her hospital when all specialized COVID hospitals were closed, but she’s confident that the premises “will be repurposed,” and not fully closed.

According to an internal report, 300 patients are hospitalized in Batajnica, and the doctor explained that aside from her hospital, only the Infectious Disease Hospital and the Military Hospital in the Karaburma municipality have active COVID triage areas.
