Besnik Bislimi, Kosovo vice premier and chief negotiator in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, has said that Kosovo is very close to finalizing an agreement enabling implementation of energy guide which aims to settle problems with electricity supply and electricity bill payment in four municipalities in Kosovo’s north.

“Any potential energy agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will not change even a comma of what was already agreed in Brussels in 2013 and 2015. The only negotiator on behalf of Kosovo is the government of the Republic of Kosovo,” Bislimi stressed.

According to Bislimi, the only goal of a meeting between Kosovo Energy Distribution Services (KEDS) and the Serbian side, held in Istanbul on June 9, was to ensure guarantees for four services agreed in 2015 – installation of electricity meters, maintenance of meters, invoicing, and payment collection.

He added that aside from the Serbian operator Elektroserver, there would be no other operator in Kosovo’s north or additional distribution services other than the four services agreed in 2015, which also applied outside of four municipalities in Kosovo’s north.
