U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill said in Nis on June 27 that it was important for everyone to be very aware of what their goals were in difficult times, adding that Serbia should redouble its efforts to return to Western institutions, i.e. to align with the European Union.
Hill said Serbia had a future in the EU and that he believed the nation would reach this goal.
He went on to say that though Serbia's journey to the EU seemed longer than expected, this should serve as inspiration and strength to go on because the end result was worth it.
The ambassador visited Svrljig, Gornja Toponica and Nis on June 27, touring three projects being implemented with financial support from a humanitarian aid program of the the European Command of the U.S. military.
