According to Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, over 12,000 Russian citizens have relocated to Serbia since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24. Of that number, about 6,500 have been granted work permits and are registered as employed in Serbia.

Speaking for Pink TV, the prime minister added that 3,500 of the newly-arrived Russian expats received family-sponsored residence permits while 1,800 individuals are in the process of receiving work permits.

Brnabic further stated that “Serbia’s doors will remain open” to any other Russian citizens that may choose to leave their country in the wake of the war in Ukraine.
