Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti stated on Oct. 19, after a meeting with the U.S. envoy for the dialogue, Gabriel Escobar, that Kosovo was ready to reach an agreement with Serbia that would be based on mutual recognition.
"By readiness for meetings, the will to reach agreements and concrete proposals that we give, the Republic of Kosovo has shown that it is the constructive and creative side in the dialogue process. We are ready and committed to reaching the legally binding agreements for the normalization of relations, with mutual recognition at the core," Kurti stated during an unannounced news conference.
The U.S. envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue has stated that the U.S. "supports the path of Kosovo." "I am proud to said that Kosovo has contributed much to our mutual agenda and I think this week's events in Kosovo are an important indicator of how Kosovo contributes, in a positive way, to the joint agenda for democracy and freedom," said Escobar, who is to visit Belgrade on Oct. 20.
